![]() ![]() I am a serious collector of the Six series guns and happen to own Security Six (NIB with the original box and paperwork) serial number 150-00141 and I know the owner of serial number 150-00053. The Speed Six was the third of the Six series. During this time (150, 151 s/n's) Ruger also made a fixed sight Security Six which later became the Police Service Six when Ruger went after the law enforcement contracts. These early models had a different shaped grip frame (called the low back or hump back frame) Around the 151- serial numbers Ruger redesigned the frame (now called the high back frame) and this frame was used until the end of production. The serial numbers of the Security Six started with 150-00001. The Security Six was the first of the Six series to be designed and produced. I can tell you with no reservations that the Service Six did not preceded the Security Six. Click to expand.I believe you are a bit mistaken. ![]()
